Alas , in the case of Bob-white's, they sometimes come from released pen-reared 
birds - which may have hastened their disappearance in the first place!

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Northern Bobwhite at St. Mary's College 5/14-5/15

We were wondering, if the birds disappear then reappear, where do they come 
from? I don't think they're migratory but they must move around some. Just 
curious.

Jane Kostenko and I were at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City yesterday 
afternoon and again this morning. Both days, we heard a Northern Bobwhite
