Yesterday Mike and I birded primarily Frederick County but also some spots
in eastern Washington County. It was one of the best warbler days I've ever
had. Sugarloaf Mountain was particularly birdy with migrants. We ended the
day with 26 warbler species, including:

Blue-winged Warbler
Nashville Warbler (one on Brown Rd, Frederick Co., and one on Warner Hollow
Rd, Washington Co.)
Northern Parula
Yellow Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler (Sugarloaf)
Yellow-throated Warbler
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler (one at Sugarloaf and one on a section of the
Appalachin Trail in Washington Co.)
Blackpoll Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Prothonotary Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush (feeding on Sugarloaf Mountain road with three
Louisiana Waterthrushes at dawn...I've never noticed this behavior before)
Louisiana Waterthrush
Kentucky Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Wilson's Warbler (Sugarloaf)
Canada Warbler (Sugarloaf)
Yellow-breasted Chat

Some of our other highlights were:
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Sugarloaf)
Swainson's Thrush (Sugarloaf and Warner Hollow Rd, Wash.)
Veery (Sugarloaf)
Least Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs in a flooded field in
Frederick
Broad-winged Hawk (Weverton)
Common Nighthawk (Weverton, Frederick county side)

Semipalmated Sandpiper - 1 - Washington County - See Jim Green post.

With no pretensions of a Big Day, we still ended up with 118
species. Needless to say, it was really enjoyable to be out, even with the
rain.
