Made an ill-advised late evening trip to Violette's (Mont. Co.) in an
attempt to catch a glimpse of the previously reported Least Tern and
Neotropic Cormorant. Watched for about 40 mins starting at 7:50pm with
no luck. A nice consolation prize was a swarm of at least 30 Common
Nighthawks over the river, my FOY.

For those who have not been to the river lately, the water is extremely
high, and most of the usual vantage points at Violette's are under
water. A flock of Least Sandpipers repeatedly circled the area calling
as if to protest the lack of suitable landing places. Given the
conditions, I'd be surprised if the Least Tern returns in the morning.
But if it is, prompt reports would be appreciated!

Good birding!
