Hi All,

This morning at the far southern end of Hains Point (A.K.A. East Potomac Park, DC), I found what at first I thought was a Great Crested Flycatcher. I never got a good look at it, but when I did see the face, it seemed to be a lighter gray than normal and overall a little smaller.  The bird was also quite skittish and kept moving from tree to tree, just out of sight.

I AM NOT SAYING THIS ISN'T a Great-crested Flycatcher (e.g. Ash-throated Flycatcher), but it seems kind of late for GC Flycatchers to be migrating, and as a wonderful migrant trap, this is the place I would assume a lost bird might show up.

If you happen to be in the area, you might want to roll the dice and see if you get lucky and can relocate this interesting bird.

Good Birding!
