When you buy a smartphone you have to go into the settings and set up the email  
parameters, including a line to enter your name. By default on most phones,  if 
you don't enter your real name it just "fills in the blank" with your  email  
address. So when somebody posts from a smartphone and their name doesn't show in 
the header, it probably means  they didn't understand the settings or didn't 
bother to type their full name. (And of course there may be some phones out 
there that don't offer the capability to display your name.)
