Went to Patuxent Refuge to try out new binoculars - Nikon Monarch 10x42.
I find them easy to use and great in low light condition (in the woods). Can
focus
as close as ~8 ft.
I didn't get a very early start (around 9:15 a.m.) but found some good migrants
...Baltimore Oriole (see my pbase.com photo below), Orchard Oriole, Indigo
Bunting, Yellow-billed Cuckoo,
Eastern Bluebird, Chipping Sparrow, 2 Green Herons (flying together), Wood
Ducks,
RW Blackbirds, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I don't typically list resident birds
unless
they're not commonly seen.
