Off-Topic: Black-crowned Night Heron Behavior

The current edition of the 'ELEPAIO, the journal of the Hawaii Audubon Society reports tool use by Black-crowned Night Herons on Maui and Oahu.  Specifically, they have been recorded throwing or carrying bread and dropping it into ponds, to attract fish.  In several instances, they have snatched the bread away for Koi that are too large to subdue.  The behavior has also been observed in Green Heron.  For video of the behavior, see:
