The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, Halyomorpha Halys, the bug that has become
such a nuisance locally, has been around the US for only about ten years.
It is native to China, Japan and Korea.

The primary predator in their native lands is a parasitic wasp that is
being considered for introduction into the US. Here, a few praying mantises
and spiders will take this bug, but little else. There are no known avian
predators listed.

When you have hundreds inside your house -- as we here -- they are hard to
see as attractive any more than cockroaches would be.

They have these extraordinary carbuncular simple eyes. BTW Maryland birds
probably eat them.
