I stopped by the pond near Home Depot/BJ's in Bowie to see if the crazy 
Pied-billed Grebes are nesting there again.  I wasn't expecting much because 
last year I only saw them spottily and never saw evidence of breeding like the 
year before.  Was I shocked to see not just an adult but 5 stripe-headed 
youngsters!  I don't know what the attaraction is for them in this increasingly 
nasty-looking little pond.
