Hi Folks,

Ed Carlson and I did an evening survey at Swan Creek today (6/6), and the
Black-necked Stilts were still together and active in the north dredge cell,
and we were able to view them in excellent light. Also, the male Lesser
Scaup continues, as well as nine or more Semipalmated Plovers. We also had
a Black Duck at the wetlands this evening, as well as seven species of wader
(Great Blue, Great, Snowy, Little Blue, Cattle, Black-crown, Ibis), and 54
species for our 2.5 hour trek.

Swan Creek is open weekdays only, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is
little contractor activity right now, so they are closing promptly at 3:30.
If you need to see these birds, you might want to go at lunch time, though
the lighting is not very good. Afternoon is best for lighting.
