"The Birder's Handbook", by Paul Ehrlich, David S. Dobkin and Darryl
Wheye (Jun 15, 1988) has a few excellent essays on hybridization.
Cornell University has several more technical publications
(ornithology) that are also superb. I refer to the Erlich, et. al.
book often.
