Ooops. Obviously the bird was singing, not sining. Had it been sining, I would not have heard it ;-)

I heard (yes I actually heard) a Grasshopper Sparrow sining loudly
rom the corner of the yard by our woodpile

Subject: [MDOSPREY] New shop bird!

Morning all,
Yesterday afternoon around 3 PM I came up to the house to check on the dog, and
as only away from the shop for perhaps 15 minutes or so. I left the door open
the "regular" door on the side, not the garage door, which was closed because
t had been raining), and when I went back into the shop there was a bird,
reaking out and flying frantically around the shop by the lights. I quickly
urned off the light and opened the garage door, and the bird flew out the open
oor. This is the same method I use to rid the shop of bees and wasps. They seem
o fly right out when they see the open space and the light coming in,
specially when I turn off the shop lights. Anyway, the bird was an Eastern
ingbird (!), making the total for my "shop list" (birds that have actually been
n the shop) 2; the other was a hummingbird.
This morning when I was out on the deck getting ready to walk around the yard
ith Peanut, I heard (yes I actually heard) a Grasshopper Sparrow sining loudly
rom the corner of the yard by our woodpile. It took me a long time to finally
ocate it; it was perched on a fence pole in our neighbors field, bordering the
ther neighbors humongous house. Sadly, the hayfields were all cut last week, so
aybe it will take up residence in my small, uncut field in the backyard. One
an hope...
