The rookery of yellow-crowned night-herons over the Jones Falls should have young now, and probably some are close to fledgling-age. I plan on checking soon. This year there were 5 nests. Two on the right side of the bridge, three on the left when you are approaching from the Stieff Silver building.

A walk in Patterson Park today also turned up the following:

2 Am. Kestrel
6 Red-winged Blackbird
4 Common Grackle
1 Gray Catbird
1 Eastern Kingbird
1 Eastern Wood-pewee
3 Great-crested Flycatcher
1 Osprey
29 Mallard
2 Black-crowned Night-heron
2 Fish Crow
2 Am. Crow
4 Am. Goldfinch
12 Mourning Dove
1 Double-crested Cormorant

Good Birding!
