This evening I found a female or juvenile Hooded Merganser on the lake in Patterson Park. When I first found her, she was sleeping in the center of the lake off the south side of the island. Later she moved out in to the deeper parts of lake near the south end to feed, which she did actively diving and dabbling for about 20 minutes. She's in a good area to be photographed if the light is decent, and I did get some tonight. None turned out very good and I will probably be back tomorrow to try again.
