> No Black-Rail vocals early afternoon. I received a couple of nasty bites from deerfly, so use bug spray if bugs like you as much as they like me.

> Today was my first time at this interesting spot and I stayed a couple of hours. I don't think I found anything too unusual, based on what I recall from the listserv. Nice views of 2 BNstilts, and a wonderful close view of a YBcuckoo on the way to look for the rail. (Also a ybc singing from the parking area--don't know if it was the same or different from the one I saw down the path.) 3 egrets: snowy, great, cattle. A mottled little blue heron. A glossy ibis. Least tern. Ran into a couple of other birders who got other stuff, I think. From real far away, a song sounded like maybe a summer tanager, but I just don't know.
