All,

Chris Murray and I spent the morning in PG county chasing all of the
previously reported birds. As anyone who went to see the Dickcissel
knows, the site where Mikey found the bird is quite amazing and
well-worth a visit. We had few cars pass by us while we enjoyed the
birds, but that certainly could change during the week. Of note, the
perched, singing DICKCISSEL, YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS, WILLOW
FLYCATCHERS, NORTHERN BOBWHITE, ORCHARD ORIOLE, BLUE GROSBEAK,
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, BANK SWALLOW and EASTERN MEADOWLARK (just
slightly South of the Dickcissel location).

We started the day at School House Pond, where we found Fred's
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON (right where he described, perched high in a
tree nearest the boardwalk to the apartments).

A bit later, on the opposite side of the path (just as the boardwalk
starts and leads out over the water (on the North side of the pond),
Chris and I were stumped by a constantly singing / calling bird. It
did not move in 30-40 minutes. We searched and searched but found no
bird. It did not really make a move. A male BALTIMORE ORIOLE stopped
in to the tree, but made no attempts to visit the noisy, motionless,
hidden bird. Now, I am sure this is just some common bird... but
despite our best efforts, we couldn't make heads or tails of it.

So I video'd it. Please... if you have a moment... chime in? Two
videos with audio of the bird in question can be found here:

Thanks!

Good Birding,
