I have reported on multiple pairs of Wood Ducks at a farm pond off Catholic Chruch Rd just south of the intersection with Gapland Rd over the past months.  On Sunday i observed, at first, a lone bird on the pea-green water surface.  Circling back i noted 5 ducklings along with 3 female, but no male, Wood Ducks.  One of the ducklings did appear to be larger than the others.  I have seen some rather large snapping turtles out on the roadways in that area, so i'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for these little guys...
