Hi Everyone,
Given the great reports from Bill and Matt, Carol and I decided to bird Skimmer Island this evening (29 June 2011) before dinner at Hooper's. At about 8:30 pm, while completing my final count (Herring Gull), I saw an adult YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT HERON standing at the edge of the water on the island. I took some digiscopes (long distance, low light, but enough to document the bird). The SANDWICH TERN count is now up to 12.
Have fun,
