Betsy and I were lucky enough to have a Black-billed Cuckoo show up around
the house for the past few days. The bird sang the evenings of the 1st and
2nd. We did not hear it yesterday but this morning, it sang/called a few
times while I was getting ready for work. There are no other eBird reports
from Harford during the summer months so far.

The Broad-winged Hawk was on Peach Orchard Rd a little less than a mile from
Rt 136. It was an adult and the bird perched and flew several times. It
was feasting on a small mammal at one point right next to the car. My dad
said one nested off of Quaker Church Rd when he was a kid so they have been
in the area for a while. I think it is the first time I have had one in
Harford in the summer.

Cheers and good birding,
