The report that follows is several weeks late due to inadvertent problems
between a couple of computers.


Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from May 26,2011

       This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
       The summary of bird observations that follows was taken by permission
from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and MD Port Administration, May 2011,
Fauna Monitoring Report for the Paul S. Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration
Project at Poplar Island.
       Note the presence of  American Coot and Ruddy Turnstone along with
quite high numbers of Semipalmated Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper and Dunlin.
