Morning all,
Lots of bluebirds around now, with young out of both boxes. Many have been using our bird fountain for both bathing and drinking, especially in late afternoon and early evening. Wood Thrushes are still singing from the neighbors woods, and the Grasshopper Sparrow is still and persistently singing from the trees in the side yard, heard nearly every morning.

Lots of young Chippies around too, and the catbirds seem to have stayed nearby and perhaps nested. I found one of their nests with a single egg, but it must've been abandoned earlier in the season, and I haven't seen them use it lately.

As an aside; our local Ace hardware store is selling Stink Bug traps now, and we bought 2 when we were there earlier in the week. They are sort of like the Japanese beetle traps, and use pheromones as a lure, which needs to be replaced every two weeks. I hung one on either side of our huge blackberry "hedge" and so far they seem only to be catching juvenile bugs, no flying adults. The info that came with them is interesting though, and informative too.

There are tips for using the traps indoors as well as outdoors, etc. We shall see...
