A visiting friend from NY and I squeezed in a hike at Riverbend Park this morning before it got too hot.

From the Visitor Center area along the river we observed a Pied-billed Grebe in the Potomac loosely associating with Mallards.  We also saw a Spotted Sandpiper teetering on fallen trees in the river upriver a ways.

The water level is quite low.
