I birded the marsh and impoundments this morning with Ruth Bergstrom and her friend Pat. Very enjoyable time. Some of the birds:

Shorebirds:
Killdeer (3)
Gr Yellowlegs (a few)
Les Yellowlegs (a few)
Semipalm Sandpiper (couple dozen)
Least Sand (half dozen)
Spotted Sand (2)
Solitary Sand (2)
Pectoral Sand (1)

Also:
Marsh Wren (lots)
C Yellowthroat (lots)
Kingbirds
Bald Eagles
Barn Swallows
Black-Billed Cuckoo (1 singing)
Blue Grosbeaks (several females and young males, some singing)
Purple Martins (many at martin house by marsh, including some babies)
Acadian Fly

Other: several zebra swallowtails, a couple with both long tails intact; tiger sw., black sw., various dragonflies; various other bees/butterflies.
