Northern Virginia birder Gerco Hoogeweg asked me to post the
following information, based on his sightings off Oland Rd.,
Frederick County, on August 13:
"Late morning, early afternoon 3 Upland Sandpipers were observed in
the sod fields along Rte 85 and the corner of Oland Rd. The birds we
far away in field from the south side of the field and were best
observed from the grass strip along Rte 85. They were very hard to
find and a good scope will help. Other birds of interest were a pair
of Bank Swallows and a Grasshopper Sparrow."
