Yesterday I received an email from Jeannine Parvin, Database Administrator of www.bandedbirds.org, about the banded Semipalmated Sandpiper (SESA) I saw at Liberty Reservoir on Sunday, August 7. This SESA had a blue ring over a yellow flag inscribed with "HLX" on it's left leg. It was originally banded in French Guiana at a location known as Isere Point on January 14, 2010. It was banded by a research group from New Jersey Audubon Society in cooperation with partners in French Guiana.

Returning to www.bandedbirds.org, I was able to register myself and map my resighting and see exactly where the banding site was. This report was the first resighting of 5104140 FYHLX SESA. I plan on checking up on this bird annually.

Jeannine was very kind and seemed almost as excited as I was about this resighting.

Be well,
