I spotted a juvenile Yellow-Crowned Night Heron at Pigpen Pond at UMBC during a late lunch stroll around 3PM this afternoon.  He was keeping company with the resident Great Blue Heron.  I saw a Green Heron here last week - must be quite the heron hang-out!  I also saw a fledgling Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher here last week that was the size of a chicken nugget!
