Hi all

Bit of a late start to the morning but we managed to scrape up a few birds
of interest in Wheaton Regional Park, Mont. Co. today. Best was a bright
juvenile CANADA WARBLER, foraging with several Chickadees and a
young Black & White Warbler in trees near the miniature train tracks. The
southerly winds of the last few days (and next few days as well) are not
conducive to lots of migrants, they are just trickling through...

Birds of Interest:

Green Heron - 5 @ Pine Lake (two adults, two juveniles, one age
undetermined)
Cooper's Hawk -- 1 fly-over
Northern Flicker - 6-8
"Traill's" Flycatcher - 1 (probably Willow based on plumage)
Eastern Wood-pewee - 1
VEERY - 1 (heavily speckled juvenile)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 1
House Wren - 1 feeding a late brood in Bluebird box
Red-eyed Vireo - 4
CANADA WARBLER - 1
Black-and-White Warbler - 1
Baltimore Oriole - 1 male
Chipping Sparrow - 15+

Plus the "usual" although even those seemed thin on the ground...

Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper
Colesville, MD
