Hi Everyone,

I checked the shallow water at the upper end of Piney Run Reservoir in Carroll County Friday evening (19 Aug 2011) and was surprised to find a young TRICOLORED HERON. Other waders here were 2 Great Blue Herons, 1 Great Egret, and 4 Green Herons. An American Black Duck and 2 Wood Ducks were with the Mallards.

Have fun,

Ron Gutberlet

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Ho Co (Flycatchers)

Flycatcher activity in the yard this morning with a number of Pewees singing and obvious on snags. A Great Crested feeding in the tree over the feeders. I also had a brief view at what looked to be a LEAST FLYCATCHER in the locust tree...drat the leaves! Nice bold eye ring that widened behind the eye...buffy wingbars on a compact grayish little guy....didn’t stick for a picture though

If anyone is interested I just posted a slew of picture on my flicker page from my week in West Va....starting with a salamanders and ending with copperhead! http://flic.kr/p/adPZoX
