This morning I birded the park in hopes of seeing either the Olive-sided Flycatcher found Wednesday or Golden-winged Warbler found Thursday. Both have been re-found up to yesterday, but to my knowledge no one saw either today. I ran into probably 3/4 of all the birders in PG County there this morning (large group on a birdwalk)!. Has anyone heard if either rarities were were seen today? Nice to see this place getting some great birds and well-deserved attention.

It was my third try there for these two species this week, but no luck yet and very few migrants. There has been a lot of activity each visit, but it has been about 98% locals (breeding species). I did see one nice Nashville Warbler this morning, the only migrant warbler I've seen this week, plus one each adult male Baltimore and Orchard Oriole, presumed migrants since all the breeders left about a month ago. Since bird activity was relatively good (MANY species of locals observed each visit) I have to assume not many migrants are around yet. I may try again either this eve or tomorrow morn.

If they have disappeared, I am hoping one shows up down here at Jug Bay (abouit 10 miles downstream). And of course, I'm also hoping the Gray-hooded Gull that disappeared from Coney Island NY 2 weeks ago will show up in MD, and what better place than here at Jug Bay? Maybe with one of the big groups of Laughers that loaf and drink here enroute between the Bay and the landfill?

Cheers-
