Jeff,
You ran into the monthly (third Saturday, 7:30) field trip run by
Patuxent MOS/PG Audubon. It broke up about 11:30 and despite 20+ pairs
of eyes looking, there were no reports of either of your targets. I
thought the morning was very slow; a number of the resident birds were
missing and I managed to leave without perceiving a single migrant.
There was, however, some evidence of post-breeding dispersal. The
official trip list managed to reach a reasonably respectable 48
species. My list with random numbers is below.
