Hi folks,
I'm passing this info on from Terry Bronson. He was unable to
subscribe to the list.
I went to the Youghiogheny Reservoir at the end of Old Morgantown Road
north of Friendsville in Garrett County this morning. The waters have
been drawn down for the year, and it is possible to drive out onto the
mud flats for about a half mile to the north, which is where most of
the birds were. I found the following birds of interest:
Killdeer--160, at least
Semipalmated Plover--2
Least Sandpiper--17 presumed. Most were distant, but the few I could
see well were all Leasts.
Solitary Sandpiper--6
Spotted Sandpiper--2
Great Blue Heron--6
Green Heron--5
Bald Eagle--1 adult
Osprey--1, plus another on the power line crossing along Old Morgantown Road
Belted Kingfisher--7
Canada Goose--37
Wood Duck--31
Mallard--41
Common Merganser--4 female types
Barn Swallow--15
Cliff Swallow--10
Wild Turkey--12 along Old Morgantown Road
