Enjoying the pleasant evening, Andrea and I took a walk along Hains Point, when a ROYAL TERN flew by followed quickly by a CASPIAN TERN.  The huge roost of 1200+ Laughing Gulls was gone from the golf course, but it soon became evident that they were around in smaller, yet large flocks at the moth of the Anacostia River, the South Capitol St. bridge, and generally flying around.  Mixed in were a lot more Ring-billed gulls than this morning. Starling flocks in the 100s were also moving about, but nearly no swallows or small terns were present.

Right before we left, a COMMON NIGHTHAWK flew up the washington Channel.

Good birding!
