I stopped by after work; the Olive-sided very cooperatively sallied forth for insects for the last half hour or so in the misty gloom from dead twigs at the tops of oak and poplar at the far end of the Conservatory parking lot (and is still holding out here at 7 pm)

When I got there I was walking through the azaleas garden, it was up on a dead snag in a Tulip Poplar. Then it flew. On a hunch, I knew where it was headed, and at the Conservatory/Butterfly Garden in the left corner, there it was! It even did it's "whip" call once. It's already a lifer for me, but still nice to renew an acquaintance. Lots of American Robins, Gray Catbirds, Grackles, Bluejays, Amer.Finches, 3 Ruby thrt Hummingbirds in the area all stocking up.
