Interesting Nighthawk post by Mike M. from Takoma Park, because here in Silver Spring (near Sligo Creek Pkwy and Colesville Rd) we had about 40 nighthawks flying together on a beeline toward Takoma Park around 8pm.  They were not foraging and did not vocalize.  In my backyard, we had much more feeder activity than normal today; I wonder if the birds sense the impending storm.
