Hi All,

Some of you may have heard that I have been working on a big year for DC.  Thanks to Hurricane Irene I've topped 200 species year to date in DC. Interestingly, I'm still not sure what my 200th species was - Frank Hawkins snapped photos of what we all hope is an Arctic Tern flying around Hains Point, but the jury is still out on the ID.  If the tern turns out to be a Common, then that Juv. Little Blue that flew up river will take the honors of being bird #200.

I want to thank Paul Pisano and Wayne Baumgartner for both giving me heads up to birds they saw in the area and their willingness to mull over tricky to ID species.

Well, since we still have 4 moths until the end of the year, the Long-billed Dowitcher (bird #201) will start me off on my unstoppable march to bird #300 by the end of the year!

Wish me luck!

Jason Berry
