Hello, all,

Went to North Beach for my first trip ever yesterday.  Found a relatively uncommon, but not exactly rare, Glossy Ibis, in the marsh on the bay side of the causeway around 1 PM [checked field marks for White-faced, but ruled out: no red eye or pink facial skin].  Other than that, some nice terns from the peer, but nothing rare:  2 Forster's, 2 Royal, 1 Common.  Also a fisherman who caught a Horseshoe crab and was too afraid to touch it, so I seized the "teachable moment" to remove the hook and give a brief lesson on the value of the critters.  I hope she survived because the hook had been pretty embedded inside her mouth parts, and she was bleeding a fair bit when I released her.  Unfortunately, there was not much else I could have done.
