Just a quick note to get some of today's highlights online.

I birded all day with Ron Gutberlet, Bill Hubick, and Mike Ostrowski. In the morning at Point Lookout, Mikey Lutmerding was also with us.

Point Lookout was relatively slow, not unexpectedly given the south winds. Birds in and around the park included:

3 Black-bellied Plovers (fly-by at the point)
1 Dickcissel (at the point)
1 Glossy Ibis on Long Neck Rd along with good numbers of Snowy, Great, and Cattle Egrets.

In the afternoon, we headed to Charles County. Our best birding was at the end of Morgantown Rd. We started at the pond in back of the turf farm, where we had a Black Tern (same as reported earlier this week by Jim Green and Dave Powell). While scanning the terns on the river, a Peregrine Falcon flew over. Then we scoped the overturned dirt on the turf farm. I spotted a Ruddy Turnstone and Ron found a Buff-breasted Sandpiper. We also had 7 Semipalmated Plovers, 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers, and 4 Pectoral Sandpipers along with the usual Killdeer.

After hearing from Jim Stasz that he saw a Tricolored Heron a few days ago at the Port Tobacco Marina, the same location where Jim Green found one about a month ago, we headed north and luckily refound the bird. It was perched up in a tree, viewable from the beginning of the driveway to the restaurant at the marina.

Our last stop of the day was Jackson Landing on the PG side of Jug Bay, where we hoped to see the White Ibis seen yesterday by Rob Ostrowski and Fred Shaffer. When we got there the Great Egrets were already flying to their roost on the AA side opposite Jackson Landing. Mike picked out the ibis in the tree with the egrets. A Black Tern on the AA side was the last bird of the day.
