Hi all,

I birded Jackson Landing at Jug Bay tonight specifically. The highlights
were two phalaropes (one RED-NECKED and one unidentified), the continuing
BLACK TERNs, and truly impressive numbers of BOBOLINKs. I first spotted the
phalaropes from the canoe launch area, got a couple of distant shots, then
ran to the observation platform to the south, just as I got there, one of
the phalaropes lifted off the water and flew south, the other swam and
walked in the hydrilla mat and I was able to get some documentation shots.
Flocks of BOBOLINKs were constantly flying over heading south, the largest
flock contained 183 individuals! The full list is posted below.

I have also included a (belated, sorry!) list from North Beach after the
passing of Hurricane Irene, I am glad Bill was able to post our best birds
in real time, was a fantastic day!!
