The first Broadwinged hawks which we could confidently identify were recorded today,Sunday the 11th of September, 2011. We hope to see large numbers of BWs over the next week or two as sites north of us are just starting to get some good flights. With over 14 observer/visitors today we had plenty of eyes scanning the sky. Re- connecting with fellow hawk watchers is a big part of the fun, and we thank all who joined in!!

We plan on manning the site each morning this week, and beginning on Wednesday the 14th we should have observers on site most of the day over the next 10 days or so.

CVP HawkWatch - 9/11/2011- 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM - 14+ observers/visitors

Broadwings - 14

B. Eagle - 1

Sharpies - 8

Coopers - 1

Am. Kestrel - 9

N. Harrier - 2

Osprey - 4

Un. Id. Buteo - 1
