Saturday morning started out cloudy and foggy as our group of 6 bird-walk participants searched for songbirds along Minebank Run. Red-eyed Vireos, Y. B. Cuckoos, Redstarts, one Black and White Warbler and one Canada Warbler were the best birds seen. By 10:00 AM we were up at the HawkWatch site and things got more interesting. Close views of 1 Black-billed Cuckoo, 2 Y.B. Cuckoos, 1 Scarlet Tanager in fall plumage, male and female B. Orioles, 1 White-eyed Vireo and a few Empid flycatchers were the highlights. Overhead dozens of groups of Cedar Waxwings were almost non- stop. By 11:00 AM the sky was a nice mix of sun and clouds and the raptors responded. Once again thanks to everyone who assisted.

Back at the house at around 5:00 PM a loose group of 22 to 25 nighthawks were seen.
