Tomorrow's meeting of the Prince George's Audubon Society and the Patuxent Bird Club promises to be one that you will not want to miss! Matthew Jeffery, of the National Audubon Society's International Alliances Program will be giving a talk on the River of Raptors phenomenon in Veracruz, Mexico. The meeting will be held (as will the next 2 meetings) in the lovely Aviation Museum, which is just beyond the regular meeting location. See our website for further information. The program is, as always, free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Hope to see people there!

"River of Raptors, Veracruz, Mexico" presented by Matthew Jeffery

The “River of Raptors” is one of the great migration events of the world. More than 4.5 million hawks, kites, vulture, and falcons pass through Veracruz, Mexico, each fall as they fly south to their wintering grounds in Central and South America, but this once forested habitat is witnessing dramatic changes to the landscape that are reducing the available habitat that raptors and other species need to survive. Audubon's International Alliances Program and Pronatura Veracruz have been working together to change the trend and conserve and enhance these remaining forests.

See the Programs page for more information.
