Had a good variety of warblers at Elk Neck State Park in Cecil County. Started out very slowly, and I was getting a little nervous, but I ended up with 15 warblers. Birded the beginning of my walk out to the point with Dennis Quinn, a birder from nearby Pa. We had at least a half dozen, if not more, TENNESSEE WARBLERS in the first field. It was nice to compare the different plummages, and I don't think I had so many Tennessees all at once! Also in the area was, MAGNOLIA, BLUE WINGED, BLACK AND WHITE, AMERICAN REDSTART and COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. Dennis also had a NASHVILLE, which I could not relocate, as hard as I tried. The diversity really started to pick up when I walked to the point and added, CHESTNUT SIDED, CAPE MAY, BLACLBURNIAN, BLACK THROATED BLUE, BLACK THROATED GREEN, PALM, BLACKPOLL, YELLOW THROATED and NORTHERN PARULA, as well as another BLUE WINGED, REDSTARTS and MAGGIES. Now if Ican only find a Connecticut or Mourning lurking in there somewhere!
