Afternoon all,
After watching the Ravens get their helmets handed to them, I stepped out on the deck to look for hawks. At first all I saw was a lone Red-tail circling over the nearby fields. Then after a bit of looking and letting my eyes adjust, I noticed a large kettle of Broad-winged Hawks circling (very high) just NE of the yard, with more entering the kettle from the northeast. There were between 250-300 birds in this flock and they slowly gained altitude and then started pealing off towards the SW, directly above me. The stream continued throughout the next 30-40 minutes, with additional birds heading in from the NE. Quite a spectacle!

There were also 4 Osprey that passed over, as well as an earlier American Kestrel before noon. Still hosting at least 2 RT Hummers as well.
