Yesterday (Sunday) was the Prince George's county fall count. If you
were in the county and saw anything of note, pass it along and I'll
figure out how to include it in the compilation.

The weather was good and there were a number of migrant songbirds to be
found. For me, however, the highlight had to be seeing 24 Kestrels
including a flock of 18 -- EIGHTEEN -- at one field. They were perched
on power lines, chasing each other, and hunting. The field is on the
Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, west of the old sewage pond.
This area is NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC but you may be able to view the
birds by looking south from Beaver Dam Road, about a third of a mile
east of Edmonston. Safe parking is challenging but possible.

Warbler variety was lower than I like (11 species) but the number of
individuals was high with about 70 identified individuals lead by 16
Black-throated Greens.
