Ran into Jason Berry and Paul Pisano at Ft. Dupont Park this morning
and we had a Summer Tanager in a flock of several Scarlets first thing
in the morning, right in the parking lot. Unfortunately we didn't
manage to find any large warbler flocks, just a few individuals here
and there. We also had two of Yellow-billed Cuckoos, unfortunately one
was a freshly bird found along the trail. Didn't look predated, poor
guy just didn't make it through the night for some reason. Not a ton
of birds but good diversity overall.

Jason and I then headed to Kenilworth Park and Jason right away
spotted a Peregrine feeding on a kill in one of the soccer fields, we
investigated after she was done and found her meal was a drake Wood
Duck. Interestingly a juv RSHA then came in and carried away the
remainder of the kill. Also had a number of other raptors, but no
shorebirds. I also tried to find the Red-headed Woodpecker reported at
the Aquatic Gardens yesterday, or hopefully whistle in a Sora on the
boardwalk, but no luck there. Full lists below.
