Around 9:45, I had the best view of a LINCOLN'S SPARROW I've ever had in my life. Gorgeous, pristine color and markings--in the bushy "sparrow" area near the Willow Grove Bridge. (I don't know why some of the area seems trampled down.) Then, right after I enjoyed watching the Lincoln's, I pished, and a bird flew up into one of the little maples, pumping its tail. I figured it was a palm but then got a very long look at a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH--and it started chinking away. Both birds presented themselves as tho auditioning for a modeling job--within about 30 feet of each other, one after the other. Typical--the L Sp, once it dropped down from a similar little maple, didn't come back up. The NOWA flew across the creek. Maybe both are in the same area. I wish all Lincoln's could be as nicely colored and marked as this one--simply beautiful. The NOWA (which isn't very common for Cromwell) was a very yellow, heavily streaked one.
A good deal of warbler activity around the bridge and south end (toward Sherwood). Warblers: NOWA, B&W (1), Yellowthroat (many), Redstart (1), Black-Throated Green (3), Parula (2), Black-Throated Blue (1), Chestnut-Sided (1), Tennessee (3), Palm (1), Magnolia (5), Nashville (1).
