I birded Pennyfield Lock (Montgomery county) for about 1 1/2 hours today after work. Nothing out of the ordinary. About 10 CHMINEY SWIFTS flying high overhead
12 MALLARDS
4 BLACK DUCKS

Nicest surprise was finding 2 WINTER WRENS right by me along the towpath and a nice cooperative
MAGNOLIA WARBLER waiting for me at my car at 5:30.
