We had a slow start with raptors today but the brilliant sunshine and low
humidity gave great views of warblers at the Point. There were lots of
Yellow-rumped Warblers, accompanied by Black-throated Blue, Black-throated
Green, and Palm. At 8:00 I had a very yellow (Eastern) Palm Warbler perched
right at the end of the sidewalk at the cliff. The warblers flitted back and
forth, many posing for photos. There are abundant Northern Flickers but we
didn't see any Red-headed Woodpeckers today, although Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers are back; other folks reported a Brown Creeper. The place was
lively with singing White-throated Sparrows and Golden-crowned Kinglets,
which got here over the past few days. Blue Jays continue in flocks of
100-200. Robins seem to have eaten all the dogwood berries.

For the Hawk Watch, we recorded the following between 7 a.m.-noon:

3 Turkey Vultures

24 Sharpies

6 Cooper's

4 Red Shouldered (2 adult, 2 immature)

2 Broadwings (immature)

The local Bald Eagles included a pair of adults flying side-by-side and
later an adult female doing rolls to avoid a persistent immature male who
couldn't keep his talons to himself.
