I lunch-birded today on some private property in Crownsville. In
between meetings, and hungry for Turkey... not a turkey sandwich mind
you (no, that I had)... no in this case TURKEY as in Turkey Point.
Unfortunately, I had no time to seek out the Hafner's Bell's Vireo.
But in honor of their amazing find, I decided to play a little BEVI on
my iPod whilst birding. Dream big, right? Well, not one chorus in
and this very light colored sparrow popped out some brush, flew over
me and into a tree. Happily, I snapped a few photos of a CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW. They seem to everywhere this year. Now I'm left wondering
if I had played some CCSP, would a Bell's Vireo have popped out
instead?

Other birds of interest: an American Coot, a FOS Ring-necked Duck, a
bright yellow Tennessee Warbler, loads of Palm Warbler (both flavors),
loads of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a FOS Wilson's Snipe and a lone FOS
Ruddy Duck.

I'm taking a furlough day tomorrow, so if anyone happens to relocate
the Bell's Vireo, that will certainly decide my travel plans.
Tomorrow I am taking my son to school in the morning, or I'd
personally bird Turkey Point at first light. ; ) Thanks.

Good Birding,
