Nice afternoon at Kinder Farm Park. Highlights for me were Blackpoll Warbler and FOY Golden-Crowned Kinglets. What started as a nice but normal birding trip got special to me at the end. I can talk about this here because I know you understand! Most people I know do not. I ended my trip sitting on the ground under a small tree along the pathway. All of the sudden a mixed flock of birds visited that particular tree. Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned kinglets, yellow-rumps, blackpoll and palm warblers all seemed to be trying to get the closest to me. I had birds 12 inches from my head at times. They were too close to shoot with the lens I had on my camera. I just sat there in amazement and took it all in. I cannot get over how tiny yet detailed they are. It made my year. I am sure you have "been there" before!
